The armour below the ceiling in the Lady Chapel is said to have belonged to soldiers who took part in the Battle of Tarporley in 1643. Most of the battle was fought a little way outside of Tarporley, but a skirmish is said to have broken out on the fields to the south of the church. Source: http://www.tarporleyparishchurch.org
