The station building from ca. 1880 and the fine wrought iron canopies are Grade-II listed: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1131702 . Steam trains frequently stop at Hellifield to take on water but here we see a 'heritage' class 37 diesel No. 37669 ready to depart with the Scarborough Spa Express.
