Triumphal Arch, Parlington estate

The Triumphal Arch on the Parlington estate was erected in 1783, not to commemorate some great British victory or the exploits of a monarch, but it celebrates the winning of independence by the fledgling United States after a war with Britain. The arch is grade 2 listed.
