The Medway Valley Walk follows the river here between Wateringbury and Nettlestead. The railway is close to the river here as well. At weekends the river is very busy with boats of all kinds, many of them coming from Wateringbury just behind here where there are a large number of moorings. There was only one boat on the river on this bleak December day.
