This Little Bee located within the Manchester Museum was created by Art with a Heart in collaboration with Oldfield Brow School. Pupils participated in a drawing competition with designs based on purple crocuses donated by Rotary Club of Altrincham; part of the Purple4Polio campaign of EndPolioNow. The artwork from the eight finalists from Year 5 and 6 was selected as the basis for the design. A species of bee called the Purple Orchid was the inspiration for the Purple Crocus Bee.
