For many years the Wimborne Rd was the main road out of Bournemouth to the north passing through the village of Winton. The surrounding countryside is now all built up with suburbs and the Wimborne Rd at this point is a quiet residential backwater and the main traffic is now carried on Whitelegg Way (see Image)
