Most of the church building dates from 1856, although the site is much older than that; the spire was added a decade or so later. The whole was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101343026-church-of-st-michael-st-matthews-ward#.XAZ8stSLTGg in 1986.
