Fan Field Farm is located at the end of a track leading from Lindrick Dale, but it can also be reached on foot from Bridge 35 (Thorpe Locks Bridge) on the Chesterfield Canal, where a public footpath from Thorpe Salvin passes over the Sheffield to Lincoln railway line and then crosses Fan Field to Lindrick Dale. The wood on the horizon is just a small part of Moses Seat Wood, which lies to the south of Lindrick Golf Course.
