Balvaird Castle

Balvaird Castle was the 16th century fortified residence of a branch of the Murray family, the ancestors of the earls of Mansfield. The tower house, the owners residence, stands complete while the surrounding courtyard ranges and garden walls are conserved as ruins. The castle is in the care of Historic Scotland.
