Built in the early 1970's, this unusual modern Roman Catholic church was opened on 9th February 1972 by His Grace the Archbishop of Cardiff Most Rev. John Murphy, and only lasted 39 years of its intentional use. After it closed in early 2011, not much has been done to the site since then, except the car-park is now open to those who want to visit the village.
