Coflein records that the original chapel here was built in 1866 to the design of architect John Humphreys of Treforest. The chapel was rebuilt in 1899 in the Classical style. By 1995 Philadelphia had been converted to secular use. In October 2018 the building is occupied by S.C.D.P. (Swansea Centre for Deaf People).
