This sign was placed on the remaining wall of The Buckley Railway Company bridge that once crossed Liverpool Road. The line was opened in 1862 and carried pottery, bricks and coal down to the docks on the River Dee at Connahs Quay. The line was essential to the development of those industries in Buckley.
