Gaters Mill is to the right and the Mill Bypass Channel is to the left. Old large scale Ordnance Survey maps show Gaters Mill as West End Mills up to the Second World War. This view was taken from the A27 road, the Armco barrier of which is in the foreground. A couple of anglers are setting up their rods in a most precarious position on a steep bank just behind the barrier.
