Built in the late 18th century for James Banks, founder of the first Wakefield Theatre. Listed, grade II* https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1242813 . The building on the right displaying various chequered panels is part of The Art House which says of itself "providing visual artists with the time, space and support they need to grow as artists". A great idea but I was disappointed to find it is not open to the public.
