William Henry Nutter was born at Cheadle Staffordshire on 11 January 1837 and educated at Rossall School. He graduated from BA from Christ's College Cambridge in 1861 and MA in 1865. He was ordained deacon in 1867 and priest in 1868. After a curacy at St Thomas Newport Isle of Wight he was a Minor canon at Rochester Cathedral from 1871 to 1884. He was Vicar of Margaret next Rochester from 1884 to 1890 when he came here. He dies on 23 December 1909.
