Monument to Major-General Sir William Penn Symons K.C.B., who was mortally wounded at the battle of Talana on 20th October 1899, during the Boer War. The Symons family came from Hatt, near Saltash. This monument is in Victoria Gardens, Saltash, Cornwall, at the top of the main street - Fore Street.
