The loch is owned by the Scottish Wildlife Trust and is managed as a nature reserve https://scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk/reserve/loch-libo/ . The Glasgow to Kilmarnock railway line and the A736 road run through the scene, between the loch and the village. Barrhead and the Glasgow conurbation can be seen in the distance.
