Viewed from Clarence Place on September 28th 2018. The tops of recently-installed support towers for overhead electric power wires are visible behind Caerleon Road buildings. This is part of the infrastructure for the electrification of the South Wales Main Line to Cardiff. Electric trains are scheduled to operate on this route from 2019 - exact start date not yet known.
