Broughton Tower

Was originally a C14th pele tower. Became Broughton Tower Special School run by Lancashire County Council for delicate children, mainly asthmatics. Later for more challenging children. Sold by LCC and became apartments and later a private house. The land is privately owned but there is a footpath to the rear of the building that gives good views of the original structure. The present owners have done an excellent job in preserving the building.
