Built as the Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in 1879-81 by C.O. Ellison, from Liverpool, and it has a Liverpudlian, as well as a Waterhousian, feel about it. The latter is attributable to the red Ruabon brick and terracotta. Grade II listed. Converted to flats, Kingsland Bridge Mansions, in 2001.
