Before it stood on a plinth at the corner of Castle Retail Park, this clock was attached to the front of John Player & Sons' No 2 Tobacco Factory, which occupied this large site between Radford Boulevard and Churchfield Lane. Boulevard Works - now student flats - is in the background, on the other side of Hartley Road. Radford was looking drab on a damp September morning.
