The Battlefield Line is the name given to this short stretch of heritage railway between Shenton and Shackerstone; trains run mainly on summer weekends, and a few other days out of season. The line was originally part of a route between Nuneaton and Ashby de la Zouch; regular passenger services were withdrawn by the LMS as early as 1931 although it continued to be used for coal trains until 1971.
