The 18th century chancel of the old church of St (Saint) James was all that was left behind when a new church to replace it was built further south in 1839. In this place in this remnant of a building to the north-east of Stratford upon Avon there is an effigy of Nicholas Lane and a stone records the murder of a William Hiron hereabouts many years ago. Time taken not available.
