This Coal Tax Post (no 121 on the list linked to below) is of the obelisk variety used where railways crossed the coal tax boundary. It is situated on the border of Ashtead and Epsom Commons where the Rye Brook goes under the Epsom to Leatherhead railway in a culvert, the slope behind it being that of a small embankment.
