This shows the pit wheel, wallower, wooden main shaft and an auxiliary drive with belts and pulleys. The main shaft drives four sets of stones on a wooden lowder frame. The mill produced oatmeal in a two stage process with two pairs of stones to shell or hull the groats and two pairs to mill. There is also a drying kiln here.
