The entry path to Machrie forest from the road that skirts the northern edge of Machrie Moor. The north-east quarter of the square is relatively recent forestry, the rest is moorland, sloping downhill towards the famous cluster of monuments. Don't attempt to go to see them from here as the going is very tough indeed!
