Although leaning, this ancient stone seems to be surviving rather better than the rakishly angled sign behind it. The places named shed an interesting light on changes in relative importance; Redgate is a tiny hamlet some five miles away, with the (now) far larger Rilla Mill and Upton Cross in between.
