This picture shows just three of the seven blocks of flats at College Bank Rochdale. These tower blocks known locally as "The Seven Sisters" consist of four tower blocks 21 storeys high and three tower blocks 17 storeys high and provide 761 homes. The tower blocks took two years to build between 1963 and 1965 and today more than 40 years after receiving their first tenants, the Seven Sisters are still a big part of Rochdale's housing programme. Many blocks of flats erected during the 1960s have now been demolished, but "The Seven Sisters" are still standing and still in good health - a success story which fully justified their building all those years ago.
