Formerly the Town Docks offices, Hull Maritime Museum dates from 1868-1871 and was converted for use as a museum in 1975. This impressive 3 domed ashlar building now houses a wide variety of exhibits which feature the maritime heritage of Hull and east Yorkshire. During Hull's year as UK City of Culture the Maritime Museum played a prominent role. The Queen's Gardens are a sequence of gardens of which this part with large flower beds surrounding a central fountain is undoubtedly the most attractive part.
