The Church of St John the Baptist at Hartwell is a Grade II* listed building (Historic England List entry Number: 1040826 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1040826 ). It was built in 1851 in Norman and Early English styles, retaining the Transitional north arcade of a mediæval church. There is a prominent bell cote at the west end of the church.
