Retaining its crossed keys motif on the gable wall and above the main entrance door, this former hotel was built around 1850, and attracted a Category C listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/200386713-cross-keys-hotel-market-street-st-andrews-ward#.W35RWehKhPY in 1971. The bar next door (to the left) is now called the Keys Bar, suggesting either a common ownership, or a willingness to keep the name alive.
