Originally a 3-storey building when it was first erected in the later 18th century, presumably similar in height to its neighbour on the right Image The upper floor has been removed as part of extensive alterations over the years, but the building was still given a Category C listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/200386915-3-5-church-street-st-andrews-ward#.W30ADuhKhPY in 1978.
