Under the relatively modern exterior lies a probable early 17th century, timber framed, Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101139004-coxfold-farmhouse-pheasey-park-farm-ward#.W3CWndQrLGg building. The projected date of 1617 is taken from carved numbers on the soffit of a beam which were seen during renovation works in the mid 20th century, but they are not entirely conclusive.
