At times during WW2 there were as many as 8 gates used for access onto the site, with each gate having a sentry or picket post, with guards when in use, and each connected by telephone. Seen at roof level are a pair of the old telephone line insulators. This would appear to be one of the sentry posts, now standing in isolation on the edge of a field of crops Image
