Figsbury Ring is a henge within a slight univallate hill fort. The henge is believed to pre-date the outer hill fort. See http://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/Gateway/Results_Single.aspx?uid=1005647&resourceID=5 It is under the control and management of the National Trust. Beyond the treeline is the Ministry of Defence danger area surrounding Porton Down. In the far distance is the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Beauty.
