National Express West Midlands 4229, a Volvo B7TL/Alexander ALX400, lays over at Queen Elizabeth Hospital before working a 1A to Acocks Green. Route 1A was introduced less than a week before this photograph was taken; it is basically a diversion of half of the long established route 1 to the hospital instead of Five Ways.
