As viewed from the former railway bridge in London Road. The blue and green TRAMS roundel on the right had only been installed when the picture was taken. The houses are situated in Tramway Walk which gained its name from its proximity to the course of the former Surrey Iron Railway, a horse-drawn plateway which lasted between 1802-1846. So when Tramlink opened in 2000 the streetname became once again more than just a historical curiosity.
