Two splendid 19th century buildings in the town centre, although well-known architect reviewer Nikolaus Pevsner described the Barrett Browning Institute building as "really terrible". To let you know, the clock tower belongs to Barrett Browning Institute, and the building in front of it is the St. Katherine's Almshouses.
