This line, the remnants of the branch to Aldeburgh, now sees only rare goods traffic removing spent fuel from Sizewell nuclear power station: rail traffic is sufficiently infrequent for these manually-operated gates to be adequate. The cottage beyond the gates may originally have been the crossing-keeper's.
