Today, Compton Verney is an art gallery owned by the specially-created charitable Compton Verney House Trust; it had been gifted in 1993 by the Peter Moores Foundation (PMF) who had purchased it in a near derelict state. The house we see today was built in the 18th century and stands in the grounds landscaped by 'Capability' Brown in 1769.
