Changes in Broadgate

Work under way to restore this part of Broadgate House to something like its appearance when first constructed in the 1940s/50s. At that time the building bridged Hertford Street and traffic passed underneath to Broadgate. When Hertford Street was closed to vehicular traffic in 1969 the gap at ground level was filled in with a bank unit that jutted out at either side ( Image] shows it from the Hertford Street side). This later addition has now been removed to open up the aspect from Broadgate to Hertford Street (see Image] ).
