The bandstand is situated on the edge of the Vine Cricket Ground. Sevenoaks bandstand was erected in 1894 for summer musical events and it has continued to be used in this purpose ever since. It was refurbished in 2014. Band concerts are held throughout the summer on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. However, this baking hot day was Armed Forces Day and the concert was taking place on a Saturday at the end of June.
