Unfortunately a full view of the façade of this Grade 2 listed house dating from 1896 and designed by George Skipper, the well-known Norwich architect who had his office here, is impossible to take due to it being obstructed by tall trees in a narrow pedestrianised lane. Only details of the architect's extravagant use of architectural and figurative detail can be captured. The decorative moulded bricks are so-called Cosseyware made by George Gunton and from 1868 onwards by his sons William and George at their brickyard in Costessey (pronounced Cossey). The Guntons' perhaps had the greatest effect on Norwich housebuilding in that two of Norwich's foremost architects, Edward Boardman and George Skipper, both used Cosseyware in their buildings. One of the people seen in this frieze is believed to be George Skipper himself - he is the second from left in the section at centre, standing beside a lady who presumably is his wife.
