Crystal House - home to Warings Furniture - is to be transformed into eight apartments (upstairs) and a commercial space downstairs. Demolition work to clear the rear of the property > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5818834 has already started and a security fence separates the site from the footpath leading past it. Warings Furniture meanwhile moved into new premises at Westlegate. In the 1900s, Crystal House was the show room of Holmes and Sons of Prospect Place Works. In the 1900s, Crystal House was the showroom of Holmes and Sons of Prospect Place Works. The Grade 2 listed building dates from 1862 and has had varied uses, from an engineering company display centre to a toy shop and furniture shop. Update, January 2020: Crystal House, now known as Anchor House, is currently occupied by Bullards Spirits, a gin distillery. The Bullards name has a 180-year association with Norwich and its new 600-litre still is said to enable it to quadruple production.
