The restaurant took over the premises of the Nab Gate pub which was built in 1959 on the site of an older pub of the same name. It is believed that there has been an inn on the site for over 400 years. The name Nab Gate is thought to refer to a one time toll gate at the top of the nab (hill) on the road leading out of Harwood towards Ainsworth.
