The former gravel pits have now been landscaped into lakes and stocked with fish. At this point the path is not confined to the former railway line from Chatteris and has what the French would call "continuité aléatoire", being unmarked on the ground. Unhelpfully after heavy rain, there is nothing laid to help those walking across this waterlogged area.
