Looking across the Eden

We've just climbed up from the bridleway linking Hartley with Nateby, on the way up to Nine Standards Rigg and are looking towards the southern outskirts of Kirkby Stephen across pasture grazed by peaceful sheep on the banks of the River Eden. The hedgerows are in full bloom with May blossom and there are plenty of wildflowers to be seen wherever the woolly locusts can't reach.
