Road following the line of old footpath at its northern end and an old track, Shepherd's Way, at its southern end (the whole of the road is still designated a public footpath). Maps suggest that the northern part was first developed in around the 1930s, the rest (seen here) in the 1950/60s (although some of the houses have since been redeveloped).
