Looking downstream from School House Bridge. Arkle Beck is notorious as a spate river and there have been some major floods over the years. All looks quiet and peaceful on this occasion, but don't linger here on a still summer evening as the Arkengarthdale midges can be just as hungry as their cousins from north of the border.
