Percy Shaw (1890-1976) lived in Boothtown, Halifax, and cat's eye road studs are still made there. See https://www.ypsyork.org/resources/yorkshire-scientists-and-innovators/percy-shaw/ . I don't know why this display is in Midgley rather than Boothtown.
